Schwing Stetter launches truck mounted concrete pumps
Schwing
Stetter
India,
a
wholly
owned
subsidiary
of
Germany-based
Schwing,
recently
launched
S-36,
a
truck-mounted
concrete
pump
in
the
domestic
market
with
application
in
infrastructure
and
construction
sectors.
The
truck-mounted
pump
is
priced
at
Rs
1.2
crore
excluding
the
chassis
cost
and
requires
a
three-axle
chassis
manufactured
by
most
commercial
vehicle
(CV)
makers
in
India.
Although
consumers
have
an
option
of
ordering
fully
built
equipment,
most
customers
are
expected
to
register
their
trucks
at
any
desired
location
or
Regional
Transport
Office
(RTO)
and
have
the
pumps
fitted
onto
the
chassis
at
the
company’s
facility.
With
infrastructure
projects
beginning
to
pick
pace
in
the
country,
the
company
is
expecting
to
sell
around
30
units
of
S-36
this
year.
The
S-36
is
the
fifth
variant
of
concrete
pump
in
the
company’s
range
of
truck-mounted
concrete
pumps
in
India.
Its
other
products
in
the
segment
include
the
S-17
range,
KVM-32
range,
S-32
range
and
KVM-34
XG-5
range
of
truck-mounted
concrete
pumps
for
the
Indian
market.
The
company’s
facility
in
Chennai
is
the
sole
manufacturing
hub
for
the
S-17
pumps
for
meeting
Schwing
Stetter’s
global
requirements.
According
to
the
company,
the
vector
control
system
fitted
on
the
control
unit
of
the
pump
helps
customers
plan
their
maintenance
schedules
in
the
most
efficient
way,
and
assures
high
returns
on
investment
with
an
average
output
of
90
cubic
metre
of
concrete
per
hour.
The
pump
allows
for
placement
of
concrete
at
distances
of
more
than
100
feet
vertically
and
90
feet
horizontally.
The
S-36
truck
mounted
concrete
pump
is
fuel-efficient
and
requires
minimal
maintenance,
thereby
ensuring
operational
reliability
and
extended
operational
life
of
the
product.
Compared
to
the
existing
fleet
of
truck-mounted
concrete
pumps,
S-36
occupies
minimal
space
and
can
pump
concrete
up
to
10
floors,
the
company
said.
‘Customers
undertaking
major
infrastructure
projects
like
Chennai
International
Airport
and
Mumbai
Metro
Rail
Link,
are
demanding
high
output
concrete
mixtures
and
application
machines.
We
expect
the
infrastructure
activities
to
not
only
pick
up
in
the
country
but
also
to
become
more
sophisticated
with
high
output
equipment
deployed
for
execution,’
said
Managing
Director,
Schwing
Stetter
India,
Anand
Sunderasan.
He
added
that
the
company
is
going
slow
on
its
expansion
plans
in
India
but
indiginisation
of
components
is
a
top
priority.
The
company
has
achieved
around
80
percent
of
localisation
for
most
of
its
concrete
mixture
range
and
is
constantly
working
with
suppliers
for
higher
localisation.
The
company
sold
around
3,000
units
last
year
including
mixers
and
pumps
and
is
hoping
to
achieve
six-eight
percent
growth
in
the
current
fiscal.
Established
in
1999,
Schwing
Stetter
manufactures
concrete
batching
plants,
transit
mixers
for
transporting
readymade
concrete
to
construction
sites,
pumps
and
concrete
placing
booms
and
recycling
plants.
It
caters
to
infrastructure
developers
and
also
acts
as
an
OEM
supplier
to
various
cement
companies
who
offer
ready
mix
concrete.
Schwing
Stetter
has
its
manufacturing

11

including
